I disagree. The numbers may be batter, but the ICOM 775DSP is one of the
worst CW rigs I've ever used! However, it is outstanding for SSB. I owned
two of them to set up SO2R and sold both after a short period of use. I
have the Yaesu FT-1000D, FT-1000MP, and the Kenwood TS-950SDX for
comparison. I owned the 775's at the same time. The old FT-1000D with a
Timewave 599ZX DSP unit is a great rig, but the FT-1000MP is more user
friendly.
I've had many, many rigs and the FT-1000D is still my favorite. I installed
a Timewave 599ZX DSP unit in it a long time ago and it became the standard
against which I measured newer rigs. My company handled all the major lines
and I got to "test" them side by side. I love my FT-1000MP, but I still
favor my 1000D. It's too big, too heavy, slow tuning rate, no built-in
DSP, but it's one great CW rig!
My 2 cents.
