I've owned both too.
Both had/have the popular mods.
Each has a few unique features I wish were common.
The MP:
Filter configuration has more options and much nicer.
NB gain can be front panel controlled.
The MKV:
VRF is very good ( I have an AM-920 station with strong harmonics in the
area).
The access to APF is on front panel (240, 120, 60 Hz) and in some conditions
it's worth while but not often if you have all ceramics installed.
200 watts in marginal conditions does make a difference.
I'd be real pleased if no mods would have been necessary for key click, NB
and roofing filter. Oh well always need an excuse to tweak something, part
of the hobby ;-)
