Your 2 cents worth accepted.
I had checked the S-meter reading before doing the mod and set the menu 9-1
value after the installation to obtain the same S-meter reading as a first
cut. I assume that Yaesu had set that parameter to 16 for a reason.
Because of the CQ CW contest this weekend (I participated as a QRP entrant
with my K2), I have not had time to fine tune the value, and under contest
conditions on top band, the chances of finding a weak signal in isolation
was nil. That task will be done later.
