[1000mp] Questions about Mark V

True, but what I still am wondering is if FLAT is a broadband preamp that 
gives me more gain (so the manual says), then why ever use it in TUNED mode? 
It seems to me that in TUNED mode because you loose some of your gain that 
this would hinder hearing weaker stations.  Although I will admit the amount 
that you hear them between the two choices may not be that noticable, there 
is still a loss of gain between TUNED and FLAT.  (By the way, I set mine to 
TUNED when I got the radio years ago, since I have read the manual again and 
came to the above understanding I am wondering, why did I do that and 
looking for some justification in it before I switch it to FLAT.)
