Don't.  It is really easy, and the results are phenomenal.  In past 
contests I spent an inordinate amount of time juggling the IPO button and 
the attenuator to keep QRM under control.  During the ARRL CW just past, I 
think I used the IPO twice.  It is definitely a keeper!
