[1000mp] Wierd 15M Problem

Thanks for all the suggestions! After doing some reading at va3cr.net I
tried to remember if this mod had been done to the rig. I decided the
best way to know was to take a look. I disassembled the rig to find the
mod had not been done. Since I had to work on it after my daughter, she
is 2 and loves to help daddy, I didn't have access to the copper tape to
completely do the mod. What I did just to see if the problem
disappeared was to pull the spring contacts up a little to improve
contact. I also re-routed the cables as described in the Yaesu
bulletin. I didn't add the copper braid between the two enclosures as
mentioned.

After reassembly and reconnecting the rig at the station, the problem
has disappeared, for now. I am going to get some copper tape so next
time I have this problem, I can fix it per the instructions.

Subject: [1000mp] Wierd 15M Problem

Hello Gang,

I have searched the archive about this, but came up with nothing.

I have an MP with Serial 5F010XXX that does not have full output on 15M.
I noticed it the first time this weekend during ARRL DX CW. I get about
50 watts out without the tuner on, and about 25 watts with the tuner on.
I checked the output on 17M also and it shows the same power out. I can
only guess that it may be in the filter board, but I haven't used my
schematic reading skills in a while. These are the only two bands that
a reduced output is exhibited. All other bands have full output with or
without the tuner.

Anyone else ever had this problem or can some one point me in the right
direction?
