Anthony,
I had a similar problem but I am not sure if it the same as you having,
there was on the earlier versions of the MP and problem with parasitic
transmissions where you actual had transmissions on 15 meters plus some
other frequencies and the tuner would have a terrible time determining
what to do. The SWR would cause the transmitter to power down even
though what was showing on the SWR meter (15meters) looked OK, I even
had what I thought was arcing going on. The fix was very simple,
relocating a few wires and adding some grounding straps plus some copper
tape to make sure of proper grounding. Yaesu had a tech bulletin that
also recommended change some chokes. I did all but the chokes since I
wanted back on the air. It took about two hours to get to the spots and
make the changes, total cost to do it besides my time was $4.00 for the
sticky back copper tape that I pick up at a local surplus store.
I believe the tech bulletins are on the FT1000MP web site, if not I know
I have a copy somewhere on this hard drive and I could email it to you
if needed. Best luck if thats the problem.
