[1000mp] Sub Audio

Last evening I heard EA3JE on 160M, SSB, well enough to want to give him a call.  He was operating split, and I realized that I'd never used the FT1000V in split-mode.

Came home tonight and read the manual and have split operation nailed now.

However, while tuning around the band this evening in dual receive (something else I've never done), I realized the audio could be set much louder with the "sub AF" control than with the main control.

Since I'm relatively hard of hearing, I've had the main audio set as high as it will go, using the top-side control.

Now I have a situation where I can set the audio for the sub-receiver too loud, and not loud enough on the main receiver.

Is there something wrong here, or do I just have something screwed-up?
