Dear Marty

The inrad roofing filter offers an advantage on crowded bands e.g. contests,
strong neigberhood signals,on low bands ... .
The roofing filter in combination with the installed 2.0 yaesu s will make
of your Field a very strong performer in ssb.

In the Field you have to solder two wires, it is not smd but it is fine
soldering with a 20 a 30 w iron.

On the website of inrad there is a review from the RSGB, the author has
lowered the IF 9.1 setting, in his case from 12 to 9 in a vintage ft1000mp.
I have lowered the setting in my Mark V from 12 to 10.

Hello all,

I had my wife install my two new 2.0 ssb filters on the second and third IF.
She said that it was like breaking into Fort Knox.. hi hi Ed, what is your
initial impression of the new Inrad Roofing filter. Do you think a non-ham
can do it ? My wife doesn't know how to solder, so if there is soldring to
be done, I will have to get my wife to drive me over to the local Motorola
Dealer. Do you have to re-adjust the IF on the Field ? Thanks to all and
