New Post, re: receiver desense after transmit.
Hi all, I recently wrote about my problem with the main receiver
sensitivity on my FT-1000mkv-Field, 4 months old. On occasion after transmit the main
receiver sensitivity drop drastically. Sub receiver, tuned to same frequency
may read S-9 on the meter and works ffine, but main receiver may only read
S-1 or below. No controls or changing of bands or frequencies change this
condition. Only a tap on the PPT switch on the Mic or a touch of the MOX
button can restore the main receiver to normal sensitivity. This problem seems to
appear intermittently and if I use the rig on a regular (every day) basis it
seems to disappear or be very intermittent.
This would seem to indicate a relay problem. Does anyone know of a relay
in the RX/TX circuit that only effects the main receiver. My age and
condition of my eyes have precluded me from tracing it in the owners manual
schematic. My 50 years experience tells me that normally only one relay would be used
in the rx/tx circuit to supply signal, on receive to both receivers but my
symptoms indicate this may not be the case with the Field.
