I dont think it is a problem at all.
The (my former) ft920 did the same thing.
If the swr was above 3:1 the tuner would not start-as per the manual. Kinda
goofy as it would start if you transmitted and bring it down to 1.5:1.
I dont understand a design which will run into a 3:1 all day with no
problem, but wont start if swr is above 3:1.
My observations only.
