Make sure the little coax cables are making a good connection. Mine did
what yours is doing and I made sure they were seated good and that fixed it.

The mod is in and I went ahead and put in the "bonus capacitor" in the main
rcvr filter. Things sure sound different, and I'm not sure everything is as
it should be. The rcvr gain seemed to be way down. I went in and changed the
setting on 9-1 to 15. This helped a lot but the S meter still doesn't read
up like it used to. I checked the setting on 8-4 but that difference is
mainly on 10 and 80. I hear S9+ EU signals of 40 CW with the ambient noise
at zero on the S-Meter. I checked the S-Meter reading on the SUB rcvr and it
was reading S7 ambient.
Is that what you noticed when you made the change?
