THERE is a learning curve... but surprisingly less then you think...  the 
default settings will get you started and more buttons on the panel mean once set 
up less (almost no) going into menus like the Icom

Yes... there are several resets.... one that resets all setting to factory 
default (which is delineated in the manual) and one that will keep your 
frequency/memory settings while resetting everything else

If you are a CW operator the Yaesu is hands down much better than the Icom!
If ylou are a contester (like me) then look at who wins the contests and what 
rigs the serious contesters use.... almost all are Yaesu (actually 2 of them 
for SO2R.
