  The internal FT-1000MP linear keying circuitry is pretty fragile and a buffer interface of some sort is needed. Another source for a commercial linear buffer interface is the Ameritron ARB-704 with the PNP-8D patch cable. Here is their website link: http://www.ameritron.com/ameritron/products.php?catid=6 .
