[1000mp] Driving 3-500Z Amp with Mark V

I run a Henry 2K-4A (a pair of 3-500Zs) with my Mark V.  Tuning was =
something I had to approach with care -- if the Mark V power was too =
high, it threw the breakers on the amp. =20

Last year, I purchased a very handy device from Riley's Accessories -- a =
small unit that plugs into the "Remote" jack on the back of the Mark V =
and keys it to put out a steady 75 watts (or 3/8 of the maximum power =
for which the menu set). This makes tuning the amp safe and easy =
without having to switch to CW or crank the power down. =20

I just checked the website for Riley's Accessories and I didn't see the =
unit (called "Tune It") listed for Yaesu rigs. But anyone who's =
interested should check with them. =20

     Mark V causing the power output on the Mark V to go to full 200 =
Watts=20
  output. the SWR meter is
     inop you cannot cut down the power. I found what happened was you =
can=20
  very easily overdrive the TL-922A with to much
     input power for a second the TL-922A is very forgiving and will =
take=20
  this for a second but it will back up to the Mark V and
     blow the diodes. Since then I first be sure the Mark V button A is =
set=20
  for no more than 75 watts output and cut the power gain
     back to 50 percent and have the settings marked on the TL-922A. =
This has=20
  worked perfect and no problems since I started to
     do this.
