Hi there, are you measuring the output also on a external power meter /
dummy load. I dont know why your power output is not controlable, but I
would be very cautious running the rig in tx, posibly you are producing rf
out as indicated on the rig po meter at high swr ( big alc reading ) but no
rf reaching the external conections.
Just a thought hve you got the correct ant 1 / 2 selection on front panel
????
Also the back panel coax socket output conections to the small pcb internal
have commonly known to go open cicuit.
Hope this is of use.

Subject: [1000mp] Power Output Problem
Hi Fellas,
I recently took my MP (Original model) out of moth balls to give
it some air time but ran into a snafu. Seems that I can not control the
power output via the power control. There is no change in power output
which happens to be virtually nothing but the display indicates a bazaar 150
watts out, ALC scale is pinned on the meter. Before I pack it up and ship
back for repair, does anyone have any suggestions on a possible issue that
might have been discussed before here on the list? Thanks for your time
