[1000mp] Power Output Problem

Hi Fellas,

            I recently took my MP (Original model) out of moth balls to =
give
it some air time but ran into a snafu.  Seems that I can not control the
power output via the power control.  There is no change in power output
which happens to be virtually nothing but the display indicates a bazaar =
150
watts out, ALC scale is pinned on the meter.  Before I pack it up and =
ship
back for repair, does anyone have any suggestions on a possible issue =
that
might have been discussed before here on the list?  Thanks for your time
