Hi Scott,

Yes, the TS-870 was leading-edge in its time. But technology moves on, and
chipsets become faster, more powerful and less costly. The Icom Pro series
(and the IC-7800) incorporate a 36 kHz final IF and 24-bit ADC/DAC, vs. 11
kHz and 16 bits in the TS-870.

It will be very interesting to see what DSP architecture the new radios will
embody. I just hope it is not another analogue/DSP hybrid.
