It is hardly fair or appropriate to compare a $1,739.00 radio to a radio =
that was $6,000.00 or more in its day. Keep the 781, and get the 1000MP =
Mark V in addition to it if you can. You will enjoy the Yaesu. Despite =
the carping you read on the site, the 1000MP Mark V is a fine radio that =
holds its own with anything out there today, and at lower cost.

Subject: [1000mp] How good is the MK5?
I've been reading the mail a while and may have gotten a distorted view =
from
all the concers, mods, upgrades, fixes, etc... being discussed. The =
reason I
ask this question is that I've been thinking of repacing my IC781 with a =
new
MK5 but am getting leary after hearing about all the problems. I know =
the
group can be biased as you are 1000MP owners but I'd be interested to =
hear
any objective comments from anyone who has had or has a 781 and how it
compares.
