[1000mp] Re: New INRAD roofing filter Kit for FT1000MP

I received the new roofing kit today, and, about 20 minutes later, I was
listening to the results on my Mark V.  I had previously installed the
front-end kit, and surprisingly, the instructions did not address the
exchange of one kit for the other (except for setting the IF gain).  I found
the old instructions, and the swap was quite easy.  Actually, after
reviewing both instructions, one need only look at the roofing filter mod
instructions - I was perhaps over-cautious.  The two wires to power up the
board are the same for the front-end kit and the roofing filter.  I tuned
around on 20 meters this evening, and it had a what I can only explain as a
solid, cleaner sound when tuning through +20 db over 9 signals - for the
little time I spend, I was impressed.  This weekend, I should have more
time.  Like the front-end mod kit, this roofing filter kit contains the
capacitor for the K9AN cw mod.  Tonight, the noise was so low, I couldn't
really get any sense of whether the noise blanker operation is improved.
