You cannot make a comparison between results from 50kHz close-in spacing to
results at 3 or 5 kHz spacing. You need the DR results for an unmodified
1000MP.
By the way, the DR figures offered by George were take using the ARRL
method - using S-5 as reference level instead Noise floor.
George W2VJN, tested also the kit on a MP Field using Noise floor reference
(as NC0B of Sherwood Engineering).

George results:
@2 kHz  DR=87dB
@5 kHz  DR=97dB

George didn't send me the DR figures for MP Field before modification.
Anyway, NC0B DR figure for a MP Field @2kHz spacing is 60dB .
I suppose that is the DR without Noise Blanker W8JI mod which improve the
basic DR figure.
It's not correct to make a comparison between different radios with unknown
test setup. We need a complete table of results including all the data about
the radio configuration and mods and test method.
Anyway, the roofing filter should improve the dynamic range. How much ? I
don't know but I believe that at least one of this 3 gentleman (George, Bob
or Tom) will put the new figures on internet in the near future. Even only
few dBs improvement in DR will be more than welcome.
