No, you won't hear the transmitted clicks on your sidetone monitor.  To
her your MK V's clicks, listen to your transmitted CW signal on another
receiver with its narrow CW filters selected, the tune just outside of
the receiver's passband.  You'll hear the clicks up to about +/-2.5 kHz
of the signal, outside of the passband.

No surface mount components are involved in the W8JI key click mod (the
INRAD mod doesn't clean it up enough, IMO).  If you operate CW, don't
hestitate doing the mod. All MPs, MKVs and Fields have the clicks.
