I use my SP-230 (companion speaker for the TS-830S) with my FT-1000MP
with no problems at all.  I also use it with my K2 and IC-756Pro2 with no
problems.  I like it because of its selectable audio filters - a definite
asset on CW for getting rid of any high-pitched hiss (heard with narrow
CW filters and the AF gain turned up high) on the AF output of almost
every radio.

I use an 8-ohm headset plugged into the SP-230's phone jack virtually all
of the time, although there's nothing wrong with the speaker's output,
either.
