See the latest John Grissom novel, "The King of Torts". The only guys =
who
come out OK on the class action suits are the lawyers. Their objective =
is to
get a settlement of some sort and get it to include covering their costs
(whatever they claim those to be) and get a little something for the =
class
action clients. The company looks to make it impossible for anyone to =
sue
them.

I think that doing the fix is the smart way for hams to go. Saves us =
lots of
time and will actually do away with the key clicks. I am not sure that
waiting for a class action to be settled will reduce key clicks in our
lifetime.

On a more positive note ---

I am planning to talk with Jim Smith of Burghardt Radio this morning. I =
will
ask him if he would like to set a price for doing the key click mod in =
his
service shop. One advantage of being based in South Dakota as they are =
is
that the per hour shop time is quite reasonable. If he agrees to provide
such service it would be a way for folks who are concerned about their
eyesight, hand steadiness, soldering aptitude, etc. to be able to get =
the
job done without concern. I will report back to the reflector.
