[1000mp] Adj CW Tuning control Under Top Access Panel

I am using a Mk V (not Field)
I too prefer a lower pitch CW signal to be in the center of the
passband. My recollection is that the pot provides quite limited
adjustment. I set the pot for the lowest pitch (which is higher than I
lke) and then I advanced the pot a very small amount. (I am assuming
that we are discussing the same pot.)
The audio filters are so narrow that I find it desirable to center
the signal first by beating the signal against SPOT. (One of the good
things about the FT1K series is having a real zero beat scheme.) The
tuning meter seems to have virtually no utility. Fortunately, with a
250 Hz filter, I hardly ever use the audio filters. However, for those
times when they are needed, the audio filters sure are nice to have.
