In my assessment the W8JI mod and the Inrad mod are essentially the
same. The difference between them is that with the W8JI mod, critical
components are selected on test to provide for differences between units
which arise due to manufacturing tolerances. For the sake of
simplicity, Inrad have taken the select on test requirement away by
settling on a nominal value for these components. Nothing wrong with
the Inrad approach. It makes the mod simpler but with it you likely
won't suppress the clicks as well if you select the values specifically
for your radio.
Having said that; it isn't going to make any difference either way if
you don't use the rig on CW. ;-)

The W8JI mod looks like it consists of a couple more components and a nightmare to install. (Probably not, just seems that way.) Why is there such a difference in the two mods and which one accomplishes the task the best?
