My choice of pitch settings is 400 Hz also.  I had no trouble adjusting
the CW tuning meter on my 1998 vintage MP to 400 Hz, with plenty of pot
left.  The adjustment is rather critical, but it works.

Actually, I don't find the CW tuning meter that useful.  After a short
time, your ear becomes accustomed to the 400 Hz tone and you seem to
automatically tune signals in to zerobeat anyway.
