First off, a big "Thank You" to all the contributors to this list. I enjoy reading the responses, tips and yes, even the light-hearted bickering that goes on.

I'm currently running a MKV with the Inrad IF Mod and a 250HZ CW filter. Unfortunately my antennas are not the greatest as I'm in a CR community but I get by.
The IF Mod made the receiver sound "cleaner" and reduced some local hash on 20 meters considerably. I have the Roofing filter ordered and will replace the IF mod when it arrives.
I do chase DX and contest (I'm at around 320 countries confirmed). Based on that and the responses I've seen here, the Roofing Filter seemed the way to go. If I don't like the way it performs, I'll take it back out and put the IF Mod back in. I guess that's why I don't really understand folks poo-pooing the Roofing Filter. For the price, it seems worth a try (if you need the near-signal reduction and it's other features) and if you don't like it, take it back out and sell it here--Someone will buy it.
Anyway, Thanks again, folks and Good DX to all of you in 2005.
