[1000mp] voice recorder and cw for mark v

Neither.  I connect the sound card line out to the patch input on the MkV.

A potential problem here is that the mic input is in parallel (sort of) 
with the patch input.  If you have a dynamic mic, such as a Heil, you 
will hear your recorded messages coming out of your microphone.  Very 
disconcerting, especially when you can't figure out where the sound is 
coming from.  To get around this, I plug the mic into the mic input on 
the soundcard and leave it there.

By doing this, I can use the sound card mixer program to adjust the mic 
and dvp message levels independently.
