Hi William,

It can be done, the flexible cable with the 8 pin and RJ45 connector  plugs 
into the mic and the cable which is permanently connected to the mic base 
with the 8 pin plug plugs into the radio. The problem was, the mic would 
still work but not the scan feature hi hi.
I would have thought that having the flexible cable would be better coming 
from the mic rather than the stand so you could separate the mic from the 
base giving you more flexibility to operate.
