I'm afraid, I would have to disagree.

Having done the mod (actually the N1EU variation on the inrad mod) to 
four radios now, I can say
that it makes a big difference even when you are hearing us at 40db over 
9. We have just switched over
to FT1000mp's/MKV's at the station where I contest, and locals have 
reported that the difference before
and after mod is like night and day.
