Agree thatt he 89 is silent.and very smooth.
I have the 99 and run it with a Ft-1000mp Mark 5 but do not find it totally
objectionable due to the cost of the finals to replace if something happens.
Also have a 89 but not used for quite some time - so will dust it off maybe
this week and give it a try with a regular Ft-1000mp setting on the bench
