Hi Jim
I've had an MP for 7 years and, like you, have never seen the NB do much.
Until last weekend that is. I was opertaing M0CAM/P in IARU Region 1 SSB Fi=
eld Day, it started raining hard and after a few minutes there was S7 noise=
everywhere, presumably power line noise. To my great surprise NB2 (with ED=
SP off) completely got rid of it.
This was on the Main Rx. I suspect I just found the right type of noise tha=
t the NB is designed for. I don't know why you see it working on the Sub Rx=
only. Do you have EDSP on?

My MkV noise blanker has never seemed to do anything useful no matter=20
which setting I tried, so I had given up on it. Today I was listening=20
split with Main in the left ear and Sub in the right. Some impulse=20
noise came on which any NB should take be able to take care of. I=20
thought I would try the NB so turned it on. As usual, no effect on=20
noise in left ear (Main). Noise in right ear (Sub) vanished. Blanker=20
setting was A1. =20
Any ideas on how I might get it working on the Main? The radio is long=20
out of warranty. I would rather not ship it to W6, especially at the=20
start of the season.
TIA for your ideas/help.
