That's exactly what happens ... most often when someone is answering a 
CQ!  Then one, or sometimes several, taps on the key will bring the rcvr 
back to life ... but you need a repeat of the call.

Since I run Low Power, I use QSK all of the time, which seems to bring 
on the "deafness".  If I shut of QSK for a while, things seems to clear 
up ... but when I go back to QSK, the problem eventually returns.  Very 
annoying.
