[1000mp] Low Power Output on FT1000MP and Sub Receiver doesn't work

Oops, more info. The sub-receiver is dead (or almost), the main receiver
seems to also be somewhat attenuated, and transmitted power output is low on
all bands from 160 to 10 meters on dummy load (25 watts CW and 50W PEP on
phone). This all happened at once.
p.s. Neither Texas Towers nor Austin Amateur have any Yaesu repair
capability although Yaesu gave me their phone numbers for that purpose.

Subject: [1000mp] Low Power Output on FT1000MP
Puts out about 25W CW and 50 W PP (on 1000MP meter) into a dummy load. Menu
4-0 is correct and RF Power is full on. Full system reset had no effect
Yaesu said first it was both power transisitors, then on the second call
said it was probably just one. They quoted $121 for the pair and up to 2
hours bench time to put them in ($140) as well as 20 to 30 working days in
their shop for out of warranty repairs. They gave me the name of Austin
Amateur, Houston Amateur, and Texas Towers as also working on them.
Has anyone had any experience with any of these? I am not comfortable with
why they went out, either, although they seemed to think it happens. I have
a shop manual, but the last time I pulled out several layers of the 1000MP,
I decided to send it back to Yaesu. Has anyone done this successfully
(replace the power transistors) or have any idea what causes them to fail
when nothing changes and the average length of transmission on cw or phone
is a few seconds. Sure wish they had 6146's.
