Your  results are very interesting but somewhat contradictory to Tom Rauch's.   You say the mod only improves the situation with the NB off and set above 11 where as Tom says it improves it regardless of the NB setting.  It would be nice to reconcile the differences in his and your measurements.

It's also interesting that you say that leaving the NB on does not degrade IMD and perhaps it doesn't as measured but we all know from experience that the NB will degrade RX performance in the presence of strong signals.

I tend to leave my NB level set at 13 and switched off.  Level 13 seems to be the lowest level that is effective on the noise I get here and I can simply turn the NB on or off as needed without having to set the level.

Anyway, the bottom line is the same.  Do the mod.
