[1000mp] New MARK-V

One quirk with the Mark V is that when VOX is on there is no indication of
it via an LED or on the display. But the BK-IN button does have a red LED.
So I use BK-IN all the time because I know when it's activated. Otherwise,
I can bump the paddle or the Logikey keyer and accidentally start sending
CW when I've forgotten that the VOX button is on.

With regard to working split, yes, I also have found out I was sending on
the DX frequency when I thought I was "up 5" or whatever. You have to be
alert to work DX with the Mark V, that's for sure.

Pete, you can change menu setting 8-5 to ON so the antenna settings do not
automatically track "the other operating parameters during memory
programming." I still have to keep a sharp eye out to make sure I'm on the
correct antenna for the band I'm on, and frequently it turns out that
propagation/local noise conditions will make one antenna superior to
another in an unpredictable manner, so I'm always switching back and forth.
Therefore, I don't need/want any automatic antenna selections by the
all-knowing Mark V.

Quite a radio.
