Dennis,

Hey, we all go with what we are familiar with. No blame there.

Glad to hear that you are on the air. Enjoy the rig.

  Hi Tom,

Yes the VOX is "ELEMENTARY" and that's the first thing I should have
done....but I didn't.....DUH. All is fine with the VOX depressed and I'm a
bit RED in the face. My TS-2000 would automatically go to VOX in the CW
mode and I just didn't think of it with the MARK-5. Sorry for the post and
waste of your time, mostly new rig jitters I think.

Thanks and best 73,

Dennis AB8NI

Dennis,

Do you have the VOX button depressed? This sounds elementary but, we have
to start somewhere.

  Me again Tom,

My MARK-V won't key (in CW) unless I have the "BK-IN" button pressed. I

  get

the CW side tone but the rig does not key. Any ideas?

Thanks,

Dennis,

It sounds like you are having a lot of fun. The one that you want is 7-5.
You just have to delay it a little.

I also installed the INRAD filters and they work great.

Keep me posted as to how you like it when you get it set up.

  Hi Tom,

Thanks for the reply and I think I found the menu (7-5) Keyer Delay Time

  but

see there is also one named Keyer Break-in Time (7-4). I'll be

  pulling

  the

rig out tomorrow to install the new INRAD filters that just came so

  I'll

hook up the 1500 after that and play with the delay.

Thanks again and best 73,

Dennis AB8NI

    Dennis,

You will probably have to set the keying delay. It is not long enough
to keep the 1500 keyed. You will find it in the menu. If you have any
trouble finding it, let me know.

      Dennis,

I have a 1500 and Mark V and that is all that I did.

        Hello gang,

I just received my new MARK-V and I'm a bit confused about hooking up
my Ameritron AL-1500 amp. Can I just turn on the "LIN" switch and go
from the "TX GND" jack to the AL-1500? The AL-1500 relay jack is
rated 12V DC 100ma when pulled to ground.

Thanks,
