Hi Al,

The machined aluminium heatsink inside the PA cabinet is cooled by two large
muffin fans, visible at the rear of the RF cabinet. The autotuner is cooled
by a small muffin fan mounted on the tuner shield cover at the bottom of
the PA chassis. It is normal for the fans to speed up when the amplifier is
keyed. Inside the PSU cabinet is a 2.5 kVA switching power supply, cooled by
two large muffin fans which cycle on and off as needed. These are visible at
the rear.

I have a Quadra, with an IC-756Pro II as exciter, in my station, and do not
find the fan noise objectionable at all.

Please check out my Quadra page.
