[1000mp] delayed display turn on

I have 3 (original) MP's in the shack and all 3 display the condition Mike
describes. The radio I use daily.. come on quickly (unless not used for
several days in a row) the other two.. which recieve activity less often
take sveral seconds for the display to illuminate. None of them have failed
to come on.. they just take some time when they're "cold" (not in
temperature but length of time used).

Okay, I'm going to throw in my two cents. I once had my MP open and the
front panel down. When I put it back together, the diplay refused to light.
I opened it back up and saw that a white cable, that I presumed to carry a
fiber optic, was pinched. I straightened it out and all was well when I
reassembled it. My dispaly has always come on instantly regardless of
temperature or time off before and after this mishap.
