There are a lot of different kinds of audio filters. In fact, MFJ's very=20
first product was an active audio filter using op amps. Before that, there=
=20
were passive filters using old telephone toroids and capacitors. Then=20
there was something called a switched capacitor audio filter (or SCAF)=20
which had a brief vogue. All are useful on CW, but whether any of these=20
outboard units would approach the performance of modern DSP strikes me as=20
unlikely.
Any more details?
