Have to add something.

The Mic and Proc Settings are related to a clock setting. So Mic-Gain is
around 9-10 o'clock and Proc is also around 9-10 o'clock.

Use the monitor to check the audio quality. This is very important. The
monitor on the MP is IMHO very good. It gives you a good idea how you sound
(it actually is a separate receiver - the audio is taken of just before the
final amp.) You can also record the audio. By doing this you get rid of
your "head resonance" hi. Just use the AF-Out jack on the back and you will
have the received audio on the left and the transmitted audio on the right
channel (maybe it is the other way around - don't remember that exactly).

Use the Proc-Meter to confirm a *little* compression. Don't make it too
punchy. The HC-4 itself is punchy enough. Using only a little bit of
compression maintains the audio qualitly while increasing the average output.
