Jim might have mentioned that, while the free download of BeaconSee is
useful, many features, such as saving configurations, are reserved for those
who register, for $30.
And yes, an omni antenna is useful for the scan Jim mentions.
BTW, the W6WX beacon, a mile from here, appears to be down. Because one does
not know whether far away beacons that are unheard have no prop or are not
functioning, I have asked an NCDXF officer whether current status
information about the beacons is available.
