I stand corrected.  Tucked into the bottom left corner of the RF Unit 
schematic is the keying circuit and there's Q1019 just as Mario described.  
His mod at 
http://lists.contesting.com/_cq-contest/2002-December/050934.htmlappears to 
be for the MP.
