That seems to be where most (at least on the original MP) ended
up leaving the 9-1 set at ... roughly 1 or 2 'clicks' <sorry> below the
factory setting. You can change it and see whats better, or worse ...

Check how the Noise Blanker works with the different levels ... that
seemed to be another data point that some used. Or compare it
with the background of the sub-rcvr ...
