To access the "hidden menu" on the older MP's, the service manual states"

"Turn the transceiver off, then press and hold the FAST and LOCK buttons
(near the main VFo knob), and turn the transceiver on again."  <page 3-8>

Try that and see if your MENU goes past 8-9 ...
