Dear Tom:
    It sounds like you have to retune the input circuit(s) on your SB-220.
I know it is a pain, but I had mine at 1.5:1 or less on 5 bands before I
sold it an went with an Alpha.  Just a matter of tweaking the cores and
checking to make sure the capacitors are close to original values.
    By the way I would use a KD9SV front end saver with the larger relay for
keying the SB-220.
