My experience parallels that of Earl's.   My MP suffers from the same
intermittent malady.   When I bring it over to be used in a multi/multi
operation, where it is in constant use for 48 hours straight, the problem
disappears for quite some time.  I've always assumed the contacts were dirty
or corroded and activity cleaned them up.
