[1000mp] Sticky relay?

My MP exibited the same symptoms 2 years ago.  I tried a different antenna 
and the problem went away.  Turned out that I had a barrel connector that 
went bad. .  The only difference I saw was that my SWR would also jump from 
time to time along with the deaf receiver, upon keying the radio again it 
would again come to life.   I replaced the barrel connector and the log 
periodic was singing again
