[1000mp] Monitor roughness

The monitor uses the sub RX to listen in to the actual transmitted signal.  I believe the roughness sometimes heard in the monitored signal is due to coupling between the antenna tuner (which resides immediately next to the sub RX) and the sub RX.  Try turning the antenna tuner off and see if the roughness goes away or is reduced.

In CW mode with Moni off,  the sidetone is an audio note (frequency equal to the receiver offset) generated by a microprocessor.
